Terry L. Tron is a Senior Associate at Hiepler & Hiepler with an impressive and extensive legal background. Prior to joining Hiepler & Hiepler, she practiced for ten years in preeminent downtown Los Angeles and San Francisco law firms, specializing in breach of contract and bad faith insurance defense. She has experience in all phases of litigation, in both state and federal court, including appellate practice. Ms. Tron eventually decided to "switch sides of the fence" and left her defense practice to join Hiepler & Hiepler in 2001, to help fight for the rights of insureds and victims of catastrophic accidents. Her knowledge of the insurer’s perspective on bad-faith litigation provides invaluable assistance to our practice.
Ms. Tron received her B.A. in Engineering and Applied Science from Harvard University in 1982. She attended Harvard on a full scholarship as the Adolph Coors Foundation Leadership Scholar, and earned a place on the Dean’s List in 1980 and 1982. She also served as a Teaching Fellow. Following college, she worked as a Systems Programmer for Unisys Corporation for five years, then decided to go on to become a lawyer.
Ms. Tron received her J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1990. She was selected and served in both her second and third year on the Southern California Law Review. She received honors grades in Gifts, Wills & Trusts and Business Organizations. Ms. Tron was also a member of the Women’s Law Association and a participant in the Second-Year Advisor Program.
Ms. Tron has been a member of the California State Bar since 1990, and is admitted to practice before all California Federal District Courts and the Ninth Circuit. She is also admitted to the District Court of Colorado. Ms. Tron is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association.
Ms. Tron was born on February 4, 1960, in Lakewood, Colorado. She married Lanny M. Tron on July 31, 1982. They have three children, Alexander, Katianna and Marika.
