Pepperdine Law School Dinner with Justice Alito

United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and Mark Hiepler share a laugh last month at the Pepperdine University Law School Dinner. Mark Hiepler was honored to conduct a 40 minute interview with Justice Alito in front of more than a thousand guests at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Mark and Justice Alito have worked together personally over the past 7 years on a program that has given over 500 8th graders the opportunity to tour the Supreme Court and ask questions of Justice Alito.

Legends of the Hardwood Breakfast

For the tenth year, Hiepler and Hiepler was the proud sponsor of the Legends of the Hardwood Breakfast. This annual breakfast takes place on the morning of the Final Four and features the Wooden Award for Coaches.

This year, Mark’s dream came true in Dallas in that he was able to be at the NCAA National Championship Game, Final Four with all three of his children, Sarah, Ryan, and Paul.

Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village

Hiepler and Hiepler sponsored TEDx event ‘Breaking Boundaries’ at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village on Feb. 5, 2014.

Key speakers included Sizhao ‘Zao’ Yang, co-creator of Farmville and CEO/co-founder of MyMiniLife (sold to Zynga Game Networks, Inc.). MyMiniLife is now the common technology platform at Zynga. He is also an investor/advisor of SV Angel, AngelList, and UCSF.

Other speakers included Chris Thomas, retired NFL player, Stacy Motenko, patient advocate at ModernHEALTH Specialty Pharmacy offering support for patients with chronic illness, Mandisa, musician and American Idol finalist, and Collins Key, magician finalist from America’s Got Talent.

Hiepler & Hiepler has been the proud sponsor for more than 10 years of Pepperdine University Basketball, numerous high school sports programs (including Camarillo High School, Rio Mesa High School, Newbury Park High School, Thousand Oaks High School, and Oaks Christian School), as well as Camarillo Boys Baseball, Camarillo Girls Softball, Camarillo YMCA Basketball, Camarillo Youth Basketball, and Camarillo Dons Youth Travel Basketball Program.

Mr. Hiepler has been the head coach of over 17 youth basketball teams, including age groups ranging from 3 1/2 years old to his present 7th grade basketball travel team which represents Camarillo.

Last year’s 6th grade Dons travel team won the championship for Ventura County.
